Exit Tihark Orchard, cast your bonds and top up your energy with Song of Power then head up to the harpy hill. Park on the backside of the hill near the top, just out of aggro range. Drop ranger spirits in order. As the last spirit is casting, cast zealot’s fire, then the whole paragon bar on yourself, starting with enduring harmony. Flag heroes back to the portal.
Maintain Mark of Protection and Protective Spirit at all times. Pair MoP casts with Deflect Arrows to cover from interrupts. Prot Spirit can be interrupted multiple times before it becomes a problem. Gather groups of harpies quickly before you get crippled, and make sure to get all the harpies in spirit range.
Primary damage is delivered via Retribution. Poke the monks with "You Move Like a Dwarf!" to get them under 90% health, and to interrupt heals. Stand near the biggest pile to maximize Zealot's Fire and Deflect Arrows . The monks have touch heals, so they will often come to you. They only have single target heals, and they will run out of energy pretty fast. Quicksand helps exhaust everything as well.
Note: Interrupts happen here, and one unlucky one can scrap the whole run. You just have to accept it as a possibility. Cons that reduce activation times can make you practically uninterruptable, but I’ve still had it happen a couple times. The abundance of loot from this farm when you get it right makes up for it though.
Quest required: Desperate Measures. Resigning and heading back out resets your progress, so you don’t need to abandon.
Gear notes: Buy the weakest armor you can in Shing Jea or Kamadan. No insignias and only the runes listed. Energy boosting upgrades are fine, but not needed at all. But absolutely no +HP. HP is balanced for MoP to heal just enough to counter damage received, while under the effect ofSymbiosis. Any enchanting staff is good enough to work for this.
Notable Drops: spears (occasionally), armor (often), tomes (ranger, warrior, monk, para), paragon elite tomes, and of course feathers. I have also seen a few of the old collector’s edition skins here (wrath, envy, quicksilver, etc.).
This can be a tricky farm, but very satisfying when you get it right. Kind of a slow farm, with a little setup, but it ends in a huge pop. My game lags sometimes due to the sheer number of deaths at once. 40+ kills if you pull all the harpies in the area.
