One of the primary complaints with Elementalists in the current meta is that their damage sources are primarily armor-respecting. These weapons packages are designed for use with the OTL Engines builds to provide armor-ignoring spammable damage for devastating effect.
/Monk: Monk secondary brings exciting opportunities in the form of armor-ignoring holy damage AoEDoTs; Symbol of Wrath can be used on a ranged blaster while Kirin’s Wrath can be used in PBAoE. Balthazar’s Aura can quickly stack up moving AOE zones around allies, whereas Smite Condition can be used to devastating effect in zones that have persistent conditions (such as the lava zones at the Great Destroyer, or poison swamps, disease zones, etc). Combines best with the Water engine for the snare effect if using the AOEDOTs.
/Mesmer: Mesmer secondary brings long-lasting armor-ignoring and energy-stripping Chaos Storm to the table as a spammable nightmare, while also opening up Cry of Frustration and Mistrust to provide area damage and interruptions on absurd cooldowns. As a bonus, you get access to Arcane Mimicry, which provides exciting opportunities if there are other Mesmers/Eles in the party (huge synergy if someone else brings Master of Magic!).
/Necro: The Necro package is not quite as strong as the others, but in areas with many enchanted foes, Defile and Desecrate enchantments can do severe wide-ranging armor-ignoring damage. Spammable Mark of Pain is also fun if you have martials in the party.
PvE spells: Though you’ll only have one PvE-only slot left (here’s hoping Soul Ignition becomes a normal skill!), these options can provide impressive spammable damage. You can’t go wrong with EVAS, but having a spammable Sniper (big money no whammy baby) or Pain Inverter can be surprisingly effective. Likewise, in a PBAoE build, Light of Deldrimor has devastating range and ignores armor.
